§ 127.4

Authority of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers

ITAR · Part 127

ICE and CBP officers may detain, inspect, seize, and investigate ITAR shipments at the border and inland. They can require production of licenses and exemption documentation. Port Directors (§ 120.69) are the everyday face of this authority. A detained shipment is not “CBP being difficult”; it is this section operating.
